It All Started Down Under
Yes, Matteo and I, the two minds behind the Miniwanderlust Team, didn’t meet in a very traditional way. A series of unimaginable coincidences led us to meet during a job interview in a remote part of Australia, a place we both chose to escape the rigid confines of Italy. We like to say that this is where the Miniwanderlust Team was born, the atypical and unconventional traveling family that has taken us around the world with two small kids.
This part of our life no longer has any secrets.
So now, let’s introduce ourselves!
Sara and Matteo
Over 35 but under 50, we have wandered half the world on every means of transportation imaginable. We managed to build a career that allows us to live out our passion: traveling.
Unlike many travelers, we have already found the place where we want to grow old: Byron Bay, a small hippy town on Australia’s east coast.
Before settling down, we want to show our children the world without preconceptions so that one day they can choose their own place.
Anna Giulia
Over 6, she has been traveling since she was in her mother’s belly.
Adaptability is her superpower; she finds beauty in any circumstance. For her, everything is a sensational discovery, every day a new adventure to live, and every place an infinite possibility for new connections.
She has traveled without issues through the most remote areas of Asia, unbothered by spicy food, heat, or rain. The world is her first home, and it couldn’t have been otherwise, given she spent 9 months in my belly without staying in the same place for more than a week.
Giulia perfectly embodies all the characteristics of the Miniwanderlust Team; the family of travelers.
Aldo Maria
Aldo is our greatest challenge. Born and raised surrounded by friends and comforts, he has shown he can perfectly adapt to nature and the nomadic life.
For him, everything is a game, and he faces every obstacle with a smile.
From such a lively and outgoing child, there is much to learn. Aldo is for us that touch of carefree and unpredictability that makes our family cheerful and exuberant.
A true heartthrob, there is no place he has visited where he hasn’t found a pretty girl to charm.
