ToggleThe Transformation of Turia Park in Valencia with Children
Turia Park in Valencia with children wasn’t always a green lung in the heart of Valencia. In the past, this space was occupied by the bed of the Turia River. After a devastating flood in 1957, city authorities made a bold decision: to move the river away from the urban center. This decision not only protected the city from future floods but also created a unique space that we now love to call Turia Park.
Turia Park in Valencia with Children: An Endless Playground for Kids
What makes Turia Park extraordinary for families is its interactive and playful nature. While the City of Arts and Sciences may seem like a closed museum for the little ones, Turia Park is a true open-air playground. Along its entire path, children find modern play areas, bike paths, and open spaces to run and have fun freely.
Original Stops to Explore
Turia Park in Valencia with children hides original gems along its path, adding a unique touch to our journey. One of the highlights is Gulliver Park, a play area that pays homage to the famous tale of Gulliver’s Travels. Here, children can climb on the gigantic figure of Gulliver, explore tunnels and slides, living a real adventure in the heart of the park.
Another exciting stop is the Turia Maze, an intricate network of paths and hedges that offers fun challenges for the whole family. For the little ones, this maze becomes a magical world to explore, while parents can enjoy the surrounding landscape.
The path continues towards the Pont del Real, a fascinating bridge that connects the park with the Royal Gardens, offering a panoramic view of the city.
Bioparc: An Experience for Every Child
After discovering these gems in Turia Park in Valencia with children, our journey took us to the Bioparc. This innovative space is more than just an attraction; it’s an immersive journey through the regions of Africa, with natural habitats that ethically and sustainably recreate the living conditions of animals.
Crossing the gates of the Bioparc, we found ourselves immersed in a world of colors, sounds, and scents. The vast and open Savanna brought us face to face with giraffes, zebras, and antelopes, creating an experience that felt directly from the heart of Africa.
The Equatorial Forest enveloped us with its dense vegetation and the song of exotic birds, offering an authentic glimpse into jungle life. The Bioparc, unlike a traditional zoo, aims to immerse visitors in an environment as close as possible to the natural habitats of the animals, promoting conservation and education.
Ethical and Engaging Interactions
One of the unique features of the Bioparc is the design of the habitats, which allows visitors to observe animals in a state of near freedom. Through special glass and invisible barriers, we felt close to the animals without causing them stress or interfering with their environment.
Additionally, the Bioparc promotes conservation and research programs to preserve endangered species, educating visitors about the challenges faced by wildlife in natural regions.
Beyond the visual and auditory experience, the Bioparc touched our hearts with its commitment to conservation. Breeding and reintroduction projects for endangered species, combined with educational and awareness programs, demonstrate that the Bioparc is not just an entertainment space but a driving force for positive change.
