Valencia: our return to civilization (but always child-friendly)

For us, Valencia has always been the perfect balance between wild nature and the city. After living in Spain for a long time, especially in remote and poorly served areas, every now and then we felt the need for a bit of "civilization", but without having to give up child-friendly spaces. Valencia is exactly this: a liveable, safe city full of corners that seem made especially for families.

Aldo and Giulia would have gladly moved directly to the Turia Park, perhaps at the foot of the great Gulliver, a magical place where they spent hours and hours of pure fun. 1. Turia Park and Gulliver Park: a children's paradise

The Turia Park is the place that represents Valencia better than any other. A huge green strip that crosses the city and that seems made especially for children. Here you can walk, ride a bike, stop in the play areas and enjoy the relaxed pace of the city.

But the real star is Gulliver Park, a huge sculpture-game inspired by Gulliver's travels. Children can climb, slide and play on its giant arms and legs, a unique and completely free experience!

2. The historic center: between medieval towers and historic squares

The historic center of Valencia is an open-air museum and walking through its streets is like taking a journey through time. Here you will find some of the most iconic monuments of the city:

• Plaza de la Virgen, the most evocative square in Valencia;
• Torres de Serranos, an ancient medieval gate that you can visit for free on Sundays;
• La Lonja de la Seda, a UNESCO heritage site, with free entry

3. Street art in the El Carmen neighborhood: an explosion of colors

One of the reasons why we love Valencia is its artistic soul. The El Carmen neighborhood is an open-air museum, with colorful murals and street art everywhere. Children have fun looking for the strangest and most original drawings, turning the walk into a real treasure hunt!

4. The Central Market: between colors and scents

Another place we love, perfect for visiting Vaencia without spending a single euro, is the Central Market of Valencia. Here children can browse among the stalls full of exotic fruit, spices and traditional sweets, while parents enjoy the authentic atmosphere of the market. It is the perfect place to take a break and immerse yourself in the flavours of Valencia.

5. Bioparc: an experience in nature (free on some days)

Bioparc Valencia is an incredible experience for children. Here, the animals live in environments recreated in the most natural way possible, without cages. There is a fee to enter, but on some days of the year it is free or discounted.

6. Malvarrosa Beach: sea and games

Valencia is also a seaside city, and Malvarrosa Beach is perfect for a family day out. Here you will find golden sand, games for children and a promenade perfect for walking. A free and relaxing option, ideal after a day of exploring the city.
